Father of Oregon Geology Thomas Condon (1822-1907) will address the 2015 Western Regional Conference of The Association of Living History, Farm, and Agricultural Museums (ALHFAM) on Friday September 25th at 7:30 p.m. at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center. Bob Hart, Executive Director of the Lane County Historical Society and a living history interpreter, will bring this 19th century Oregon legend to life.
Professor Thomas Condon was one of the first three faculty members at the University of Oregon, serving as Chair of Natural Science at UO from 1876 until 1905. In his remarkable life he was also a Congregational missionary, state geologist, beloved professor, and theistic evolutionist.
ALHFAM banquet and silent auction followed by Mr. Hart's presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. (cost $20). The presentation itself will start at 7:30 p.m. (suggested cost $10).
